Mom’s Crunchy Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

3/4 cup butter OR margarine – softened
1 cup brown sugar – packed
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Directions

Combine butter, brown sugar, egg, and molasses. Set aside.

Combine flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking powder, salt, and cloves.

Add to wet mixture. Mix well.

Refrigerate 1 hour.

Roll out half of dough at a time, to 1/4 inch.

Cut out 2 – 3 inch circles (or desired shape).

Bake on greased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for 6-8 minutes.
