Double Chocolate Chunk-Almond Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, soft
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cup flour
2/3 cup cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
12 oz pkg. semisweet chocolate chunks
1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds

Directions

Cream butter in large mixing bowl at medium speed until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until blended after each addition. Add vanilla, beating well.

Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed until blended. Stir in chocolate chunks and almonds. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets or parchment-lined sheets. Bake at 350 deg. F. for 10 to 12 minutes (cookies will still look soft). Let cool on sheets 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes about 6 dozen.
